Thank You, St. Marks Shelter Ministry!
Capitol Hill Group Ministry and the clients we serve would like to extend a sincere “thank you” to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church, and all of the individual volunteers that provided emergency shelter and overwhelming hospitality to homeless families on Capitol Hill through the St. Mark’s Shelter Ministry.
Throughout the July and August summer months, and for more than 15 years straight, families have found shelter, meals, and a much-needed welcoming community from St. Mark’s and each of the volunteers who come together to help those in need.
With DC’s emergency family shelters full, and a waiting list for families in the hundreds, the St. Mark’s Shelter Ministry has been an invaluable resource in giving homeless families a stable place to stay while they work with CHGM to make positive life changes through case management, job training, and life-skills workshops.
Capitol Hill Group Ministry’s work would not be possible without the support of our community and we would like to thank St. Mark’s and their partners for their continued support of families in transition.
