2013 Annual Back Pack Distribution Needs Your Help

Every year many children begin the school year unprepared because of family financial difficulties.  To assist with this need, Capitol Hill Group Ministry will be hosting a Back Pack Program on August 17, 2013.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We would like to extend a special invitation for you to partner with us to make this event the best ever.   There are several ways to get involved: you can make a cash donation towards school supplies, sponsor a child by grade or contribute in-kind items. 

TIMELINE:

NOW – August 16th  Contact Shelah Wilcox at 202-544-3150 or[email protected] with a preference for grade, gender and number of children you would like to sponsor.

 Purchase NEW backpacks and NEW supplies, referring to the list provided

1.      Please place all items inside the backpack.

2.      Enclose receipts and donor information sheet in an envelope and place the envelope on the side or front of backpack.  CHGM must receive either your original receipts or copies of them for our records.  They will not be returned to you, but you will receive a gifts-in-kind receipt for your tax records.  Please keep copies if you would like to record the exact amount on this receipt.

3.      Attach grade and gender of child being sponsored to the handle of the backpack.

August 5th – August 16th- Drop filled backpacks off at Shirley’s Place Day Center

August 17th – Back to School Back Pack Event from 10am -12noon.
